The course page from my Gamesalad class that will soon be launched on Udemy.com

I’m getting pretty excited, I’ve spent the last month and half or so putting together an online Gamesalad course at http://www.udemy.com. I’m not finished yet but should have it launched by the end of June 2013. The course is going to be called “Introduction to Mobile Games Development” and it will offer an introduction to Gamesalad as well as take students through the process of building three full games using Gamesalad.

If you’re not familiar with Udemy, it’s an online learning portal that offers thousands of online courses from some of the best instructors in the world. Udemy has classes that cover nearly every subject from business, health & fitness, and languages to technology and game development.

Since I haven’t finished and launched my class yet I don’t have much to show yet, just the screen shot of the course page. But if you are interested in looking at some of the other game development classes available at Udemy I’ve provided a few links below:

    Hey Jamie,

How much does this course cost and what will be the approx timeline of the online classes…?

    • Hi Asma, the course will be about 8 hours long and will have a list price of $195. But when it’s first launched (hopefully in the next week or so) there will be a coupon code for my website readers and youtube viewers of at least 50% off. Once the course is launched I’ll of course post a link to it where you’ll be able to see a listing of all the topics covered and watch a few of the lectures for free before you would need to sign up. Also if you’re not familiar with Udemy.com in general, they offer a complete satisfaction guarantee, if you’re not satisfied with any course you have 30 days to get a 100% refund. But of course I like to think my course will provide 110% satisfaction! :)

      • Hi Asma, I just wanted to follow up with an update to my pervious comment here. The course, Introduction to Mobile Games Development, was launched at Udemy.com yesterday and I have decided to revise the pricing from the original $195, to just $99!

    Hi Jamie,

Asma again. I really wish to take this course, however have a few queries.

As per my understanding, Game Creator Pro is required to publish in Android. Will you be giving us access to Pro or will we have to buy it ourselves?

Another question. $49 is just about what I can afford BUT i cannot take the course right now and will have to opt for it in November and December. Will it be possible to take the course then and will it be ok for $49 only. If not, can u please give me a coupon right now that will ensure the same rate for November enrollment. I teach app n game development to grade 9 students in Pakistan and my students want to make game in game salad next term in jan.

    Thanks!

    • Hi Asma, I have reduced the price of the class to $49 so it will never be higher than that, you’ll be able to sign up in November for $49 with no worries. I do not provide access to the Pro version of Gamesalad in the class. If you decide you want to upgrade to Pro you’ll have to do that on your own. Don’t forget though that you can build your full game using the Free version of Gamesalad and upgrade to Pro only when you are ready to publish your game to Android devices. So if it takes you six months to make your game, you can work for free that entire time. I hope that helps and I look forward to seeing you in class!
